Summer and fall in the kin's settlement Lesnaya Polyana were filled with active work and significant events for the settlers.
A significant part of the efforts was directed towards improving the road network. For the convenience of new residents, the roads were widened and leveled, and stumps that were in the way were removed. At the same time, work was carried out in the common house: a ventilation system was installed, the facades were renovated, and measures were taken to strengthen the floors to ensure the safety of the building.
The youngest residents were not forgotten either. Preparations began for the creation of a second children's play area. The site was cleared, a design was developed, foundation posts were installed, and the necessary utilities were connected.
The culmination of the autumn period was the joint planting of seedlings for a hedge. This event brought together all the residents of the kin's settlement: everyone contributed by planting, watering, and covering the seedlings. Teenagers were particularly active, helping each other. The day ended with a celebration of Harvest Day, which has deep roots in folk traditions.
This holiday is celebrated all over the world. Different peoples celebrate it in different ways, but they all have similar features — people rejoice at the completion of agricultural work and a good harvest, set tables, and gather with family, relatives, and friends. In Russia, this day was a time to take stock of the summer's work, hold fairs, and sing ritual songs and dances. It symbolized the transition to a new cycle of life, ushering in a period of matchmaking and weddings.
This year, the residents of the kin's settlement Lesnaya Polyana were delighted with a particularly rich harvest. They managed to gather an abundance of forest berries – strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. The fruits of the orchards – pears and plums – were also a delight. And the success in growing grapes and blueberries proves that people here know how to achieve outstanding results!
