Guests visiting the kin’s settlement Oberezhnoe are enchanted by the soil of this place: the rich, crumbly earth and the abundance of herbs and wild berries.
“We thought that since it’s Siberia, it would be cold, snowy, and full of other hardships. But it turns out that everything grows, blooms, and smells wonderful.” – the residents share their guests’ impressions.
With the arrival of warmer weather, every family becomes fully immersed in the care of their kin’s domains: they must constantly plant flowers, fruits, vegetables, and berries, water them, mow the grass that might get in the way, and harvest herbs for tea for the winter.
When the warm season gives way to the cold, the settlers attend to tasks they didn’t have time for during the busy planting season. For example, in the fall, the settlers made sure to cover their apple orchard, which delights them with its fruit every year.

And in winter, the residents have more free time. The residents of the Oberezhnoe settlement make the most of the cold months, enjoying themselves along the way. For example, this winter the settlers were actively engaged in creative pursuits, meeting with friends and neighbors, but they didn’t forget about their favorite and most important activity: they were gaining knowledge for the new season – the planting season – and discussing gardens and vegetable patches with residents of other kin’s settlements.

The Oberezhnoe settlement does not stand still; it is constantly developing and enriching itself. In addition to traditional agriculture, residents are actively exploring new areas. For instance, work is underway to restore and preserve local plant species, making the kin’s settlement Oberezhnoe not only a place to live but also a true nature reserve. The settlers actively cultivate cedar trees and are convinced that the cedar is a “pharmaceutical tree,” not only for its nuts, cedar nut oil, resin extract, and pine needles, which can be used as medicines with miraculous effects, but also for the many beneficial properties of the cedar trees themselves and the cedar taiga, long used by humans for medicinal purposes.

They treat every plant and every living creature with deep love and care, and they treat one another with sincere respect. It is precisely this unity with nature and with one another that creates a unique atmosphere of harmony and prosperity in this amazing corner of Siberia.
