December is a time of magical holidays: winter Solstice, Christmas, New Year... In kin’s settlements, all the holidays are celebrated beautifully, sincerely, and creatively. Settlements that were created a long time ago have already developed their own traditions over the past decades.
On the day of the Winter Solstice, December 22, people in the settlements thank the outgoing year for rich harvests, dance in circles, and sing songs. Sometimes these holidays are held in a narrow circle: in the settlement «Lesnaya Polyana» settlers simply gather with their neighbors around a large fire, where they discuss plans for the next year, fry toast on the fire, and sing. Sometimes Winter Solstice in kin’s settlements are attended by guests from other settlements and cities.

Many residents of kin’s domains create their own eco-products for sale, so on the eve of the winter holidays they actively participate in New Year's fairs in nearby cities. At this time, everyone is buying gifts - and what, if not environmentally friendly products made with love, are the best manifestation of caring for your loved ones? For example, in the last week of the year, residents of the «Zvon-Gora» settlement participate in a large fair of handicrafts and farm products in Vitebsk. In the «Bolshaya Medveditsa» settlement, a holiday fair is organized on the territory of the settlement itself.
December 31st is celebrated in different ways in the settlements. Some people prefer to say goodbye to the old year with their family and only celebrate the holiday with their neighbors on January 1st. And in some settlements, on New Year's Eve, a large table is set in the common house. Each family brings their favorite dishes, songs and lively conversations are heard at the table, people share the joys and sorrows of the past year. Settlers often organize big parties for children. On the first day of the year, performances and concerts, quests and master classes are organized for kids. Families with children from cities often come to such holidays to spend time in the fresh air and take part in interesting events.
Various spiritual practices are timed to the beginning of the new year, because this is the time to take stock of the past year and make plans for the future. For example, in the first days of 2023, the «Milenki» settlement held transformational games dedicated to different areas of life: the energy of the Kin, the embodiment of desires, financial well-being... And in some places the beginning of the year is dedicated to creativity. In the «Lesnaya Polyana» kin’s settlement, they organize creative evenings. At such events, everyone can perform a song with a guitar — one of their favorite and well-known songs or their own composition.
