For brightness of taste or for health benefits?
Cedar nut oil itself is a delicacy with a bright pleasant taste and aroma. We obtain our product by cold-pressing, which preserves all the beneficial substances as well as the flavor and aroma, as we do not heat the cedar nut oil.
Raw cedar nut oil, the recipe for which we will share next, is the same cedar nut oil, only with various herbs and spices that you can add to the product yourself to spice up an already delicious and healthy product.
How to prepare?
To make spicy cedar nut oil, you will need raw cedar nut oil from our production and a selection of fresh or dried herbs and spices. The choice of spices is a matter of taste, but garlic, rosemary, thyme, chili peppers, basil, oregano and bay leaf are classic options. Each of these ingredients brings its own unique note to the overall bouquet of flavors.
The preparation process is simple: the selected spices and herbs should be thoroughly crushed. Garlic can be crushed, chili peppers cut into thin rings, and rosemary, thyme, basil, and oregano finely chopped. The prepared mixture should then be added to the cedar nut oil.
It is important to observe the proportions, so as not to overpower the delicate flavor of the cedar nut oil. For 500 ml of cedar nut oil it is recommended to use 2-3 cloves of garlic, 1-2 sprigs of rosemary or thyme, a small piece of chili pepper and a pinch of other spices. The amount of spices can be adjusted according to your preference.
After mixing cedar nut oil and spices, the mixture should be thoroughly mixed and poured into a glass container with a tightly closing lid. The cedar nut oil should be infused in a dark and cool place for 3-5 days. During this time, the cedar nut oil will absorb the flavors of spices and become more saturated and spicy.
Ready spicy cedar nut oil can be used for salad dressing, marinating meat and fish, as well as for preparing sauces and dips. It goes well with vegetables, cheeses, and breads. Try adding it to pasta or pizza - you will be pleasantly surprised by the result!
