How much time does the activation of my new domain name take? Domains that have been purchased from a registrar company are called "external". After the purchase and setting the required DNS: ns5.ipnames.net, ns6.ipnames.net, the activation and propagation over all Internet takes from 24 to 72 hours.
As an alternative you can register one of our subdomains on the zones Anastasia.ca or RingingCedarsofRussia.org: in that case your Internet-address (URL) will be either example.ringingcedarsofrussia.org or example.anastasia.ca.
Would it be possible to use the domain name with "www" as well as without "www"?
Yes, you will be able to open your site either with "www" or without "www". In other words, you can open the site by typing in the browser's address line http://www.yourdomain.com or simply yourdomain.com: both of these addresses will point to the same website. The same hold true for subdomains: for a subdomain "example" on the zone "Anastasia.ca" you can use either example.anastasia.ca or www.example.anastasia.ca.
And although it might seem insignificant, you will be surprised at how many people are not typing in the "www" and how many hosting companies do not support that service. Providing both options allows you not to lose visitors as a result of a common mistake.
I have just purchased a domain name. Why does not it work?
After the domain registration the information about it should be distributed over the whole Internet. It normally takes from 24 to 72 hours. After you have registered your domain name check if it points to our domain name servers (DNS): indicate DNS as written here:
Primary: ns5.ipnames.net
Secondary: ns6.ipnames.net.
When your request had been confirmed our administrators will create an account after which you will recieve a confirmation in an email with a login to upload files onto the server.
Please note, that you do not need to worry about changing the domain name server parameters if you are ordering our subdomain. In that case the parameters of the DNS servers are set automatically.

Can I execute PHP-script anywhere on the server?
Yes, PHP-scripts do not require to be in a certain directory.
Common Errors
Why do I get a "Not Found" error?
The most common mistake for this error is the Internet-address (URL) has been entered incorrectly. If the URL is correct, check that the capital letters in the address are capital and small letters are small. The problem is that the names of files are folders are case-sensitive: index.html is not the same as Index.html.
Why do I see a list of files instead of my page?
If you do not have an index file (index.html, index.htm, index.php, etc.), server will list the files in that directory. In case you receive this error when entering your domain name into the address line of your browser, you need to upload an index file into the directory /public_html/.

How can I check my email on the Internet?
You can enter your email inbox through the "webmail" software. To enter any email inbox of your domain "example" on the zone Anastasia.ca go to
example.anastasia.ca/webmail or example.anastasia.ca:2095

What do I use for SMTP (outgoing) email server?
If you have your own domain: mail.yourdomain.com
If you have a subdomain on Anastasia.ca: mail.subdomain.anastasia.ca
If you have a subdomain on RingingCedarsofRussia.org: mail.subdomain.ringingcedarsofrussia.org
What do I use for POP3 (incoming) email server?
If you have your own domain: mail.yourdomain.com
If you have a subdomain on Anastasia.ca: mail.subdomain.anastasia.ca

Does the space of the inbox occupies the space of my website?
Yes, any email which you store on the server takes the space on your account. This is one of the reasons why we do not recommend to store emails on the server. After you download and read the email it is recommended to check if your email client deletes the emails form the server. Check that in the options of your email client the option "leave the emails on the server" is unchecked.
What is the size of the emails that I can keep on each account?
You can store emails upto the size of your account. On the other hand you can indicate the size of each inbox. For example, you can create an email address for your friend and limit the size of the diskspace usage to 1 Megabyte. This includes any documents, that can be attached to an email. In case your inbox had reached its limit any consequent email will not be delivered.
What is email forwarder?
The email forwarding redirects email from your domain to any other email address. This email address can be another email under your account or any email on an external domain.
Why do I recieve an authentication error when I try to send an email from my email client?
Please check that your email client for this email account has the "My server requires SMTP authentication" option checked.

What do I indicate in the "hostname" field?
If you have your domain or subdomain fully propagated, meaning that you are able to load your site by typing in the browser's address line the site's address such as www.yourdomain.com or example.anastasia.ca, then you can use your domain name (yourdomain.com or example.anastasia.ca) as a hostname.
In case your domain has not yet been registered on the Internet you can use your IP-address 124.217.251.89 untill your domain name propagates.
Where od I upload the files of my website?
All files belongng to your website should be uploaded to the "public_html" directory within the root directory of your account.
How do I connect to the site using FTP-client?
FTP-clients, including Cute FTP, Absolute FTP, Total Commander, SmartFTP, and many others required only these three parameters:
1. hostname (domain name or an IP-адрес) to which you connect.
For your website www.yourdomain.com or example.anastasia.ca, domain name will be yourdomain.com or example.anastasia.ca respectively. Your IP-address is 124.217.251.89.
2. Login or an identification name related to your account.
3. Password for your account.
As soon as you have that information you should be able to use any FTP-client for the connection to your account.
What is the difference between the directories "public_html" and "www"?
There is no difference between these directories. The directory "www" simply redirects to the "public_html". It is completely the same into which of these directories you are uploading files: they will be displaied in both.
What are these files and folders that I see when entering my account?
When you are netering your account you are restricted to your account and cannot browse beyond its limits. When you are entering your account you end up in what is called the "root directory". Here you will see several folders and files, and all of them are important and should not be changed. In two words, leave these files the way they are.

Your root directory for you website is called "public_html". This is the directory where all the content of oyur website is stored. Inside this derectory you can create subdirectories, which can be accessed by your users by going to the address yourdomain.com/subfoldername.

How do I enter my control panel?
You can enter your control panel by clicking a "Control Panel" button in the left-hand navigation menu.
You can enter your control panel by going to the Internet-address (URL):

If your domain name had not completely propagated on the Internet you can substitute your domain name with the IP address indicated above.
After clicking the "Control Panel" button or after entering one of the addresses indicated above you will be required to enter your login and password.
